Removing Barriers Career Initiative
-
The Removing Barriers Career Initiative was created with one simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future, regardless of the barriers they face.
Not everyone begins their career journey with the same opportunities, resources, or support. Some people are navigating financial hardship, disabilities, caregiving responsibilities, transportation challenges, or circumstances that make finding and maintaining employment significantly more difficult. Others have never been taught how to write a resume, prepare for an interview, or navigate the professional world. These barriers should never define someone's potential.
Through this initiative, I provide free career services to individuals who need them most. My goal isn't just to help someone complete a resume or prepare for an interview—it's to help them build confidence, develop skills they can carry forward, and take meaningful steps toward long-term career growth.
Most importantly, I want every person who comes through this initiative to know that they are not alone and that support does exist. You deserve to be treated with dignity, to be seen as more than a checklist on an application, and to have someone believe in your potential. I may not be able to remove every barrier, but if I can remove one, and help someone move forward because of it, then we've accomplished exactly what this initiative was created to do.
-
The Removing Barriers Career Initiative is designed to provide personalized career support to individuals facing financial hardship or other barriers to employment. Because this is a limited-capacity initiative operated by one person, applications are reviewed carefully to ensure I can provide meaningful, individualized support to those I serve.
1. Submit an Application
Complete the application and share information about your current circumstances, career goals, and the type of assistance you're seeking. The more information you provide, the better I can understand your situation.
2. Application Review
Every application is reviewed individually. I consider your current circumstances, the barriers you're facing, the type of assistance requested, and my current availability. Because capacity is limited, applications are not reviewed solely on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Selection & Contact
If you're selected, I'll contact you using the email address provided in your application with next steps and any additional information I need to begin working with you. If you're not selected immediately, your application may remain on the waitlist as future openings become available.
4. Personalized Career Support
Once everything is in place, we'll begin working on the approved service. Whether it's creating a resume, reviewing existing materials, preparing for an interview, or another approved service, my goal is to provide personalized guidance that helps you move forward with greater confidence.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Applying does not guarantee selection.
Services are provided free of charge through this initiative.
Available spots are limited and depend on my current capacity.
Wait times may vary.
I cannot guarantee interviews, employment, or job offers, but I will do my best to provide high-quality support and guidance throughout the process.
-
Every person's career journey is different, and so are the challenges they face. Some applicants may only need a resume review or help preparing for an interview, while others may benefit from more comprehensive support. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor the assistance provided through this initiative to each individual's unique circumstances, goals, and needs.
Depending on your situation, support may include services such as:
Resume writing, rewriting, or reviews
Cover letter writing
Interview preparation
Job application assistance
Employment assessment assistance
Career guidance and job search support
Assistance identifying strengths, transferable skills, and career goals
Other career-related support based on individual needs
If you're selected for the initiative, we'll determine together what type of assistance will have the greatest impact. Whether you need help with a single document or more comprehensive career support, my focus is on providing meaningful, personalized guidance that helps you move forward with confidence.
-
The Removing Barriers Career Initiative is open to anyone who is experiencing financial hardship, employment barriers, or circumstances that make accessing professional career services difficult. My goal is to help individuals who genuinely need support but may not otherwise have the resources to receive it.
Every person's journey is different. Whether you're entering the workforce for the first time, rebuilding after a setback, changing careers, or simply need guidance navigating the job search process, you're welcome to apply.
I especially encourage applications from individuals and communities who often experience additional barriers to employment, including but not limited to:
People with disabilities, including invisible disabilities and chronic illnesses
Members of the LGBTQ+ community
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)
Veterans and military families
Single parents and caregivers
Individuals returning to the workforce after an extended absence
Formerly incarcerated individuals
Survivors of domestic violence
Individuals experiencing housing or financial insecurity
Students and young adults with limited support systems
Anyone facing circumstances that have made finding or maintaining employment more difficult
No matter your background, if you're facing barriers that are affecting your ability to pursue meaningful employment, I encourage you to apply. Every application is reviewed individually, and I recognize that no two experiences are exactly alike.

The Removing Barriers Career Initiative is built on honesty, respect, and the belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. To ensure I can provide meaningful support while helping as many people as possible, I ask that all applicants understand and respect the following guidelines.
Limited Capacity
The Removing Barriers Career Initiative is operated solely by me. Because every service is personalized, I can only assist a limited number of individuals at a time. Applying does not guarantee selection, and wait times may vary depending on current capacity.
Individualized Support
Every applicant's situation is different. The type and scope of assistance provided will be based on your individual needs, goals, and current circumstances. Some applicants may receive support with a single service, while others may receive more comprehensive career assistance.
Honest Applications
Please provide accurate and truthful information in your application. This initiative is intended for individuals who genuinely need support, and honest applications help ensure assistance reaches those who need it most.
Communication
If you're selected, I'll communicate with you using the contact information provided in your application. Please respond within the timeframe provided so I can continue moving through the waitlist and assist others.
Respect
I strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone. Respectful communication is expected throughout the entire process. Harassment, discrimination, abusive language, or threatening behavior toward myself or others will result in removal from the initiative.
No Guarantee of Employment
While I'll do my best to provide personalized guidance and high-quality career support, I cannot guarantee interviews, employment, job offers, or specific outcomes. My goal is to help you strengthen your skills, materials, and confidence as you continue your career journey.
Thank you for trusting me with your story. I understand that asking for help isn't always easy, and I don't take that trust lightly. If I'm able to work with you through this initiative, I'll do my best to provide support that is thoughtful, honest, and centered around your individual goals.
